What the audit does, exactly

The Backtest Audit evaluates the statistical evidence in the data you provide — nothing more. It computes diagnostics from your submitted trades or equity curve, reviews your description and code, and judges the quality of the test: overfitting risk, cost sensitivity, look-ahead bias, regime coverage. The best verdict it can deliver is “the methodology supports the reported numbers.” It cannot deliver “this strategy will make money,” because no analysis of a backtest can. That limitation is not ours; it is arithmetic's.

The audit sees only what you paste. It cannot verify that your data is real, complete, or honestly produced, and it can miss flaws. A favorable report is evidence about your test, not a promise about the market.

Backtests are hypothetical performance

Backtested and simulated results are hypothetical. They are constructed with the benefit of hindsight, involve no real capital and no market impact, and routinely understate real-world costs — slippage, fees, liquidity, and the moments an exchange goes down at the worst time. Past performance, real or simulated, does not predict and does not guarantee future results. A strategy that survived every test on this site can still lose money live.

Trading risk

Trading involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Leverage multiplies losses as efficiently as gains, and some instruments can lose more than the amount you put in. No strategy, bot, signal, or verdict eliminates that risk. Never trade money you cannot afford to lose. Whatever you decide to do with a report, the decision — and its results — are yours alone.

Educational material

The demonstrations on this site — the instruments, the demo table, the sample report — are educational. They compute from seeded, deterministic, or synthetic data and are labeled as such where shown. They illustrate method, not opportunity.
